impregation: a supported meterial may be prepared by starting with a high area,porous support (e.g.alumna), and dosing it with the active phase precursor. it can be done by adsorption of an active phase from solution that is, by adding the support to a solution of active ingredient. and finally dried and calcined to produce active phase. co-precipitation: the precursor components are mixed and then co-precipitation occurs ar a particular pH by adding other salts, acid and base.. a good sample: a mixture of nitrites of copper,zinc,aluminium, and they co-precipitated by rapid adding Na2CO3. wash and remove Na+ ions,then dried and calcined. the product is a mix of copper oxide,zinc oxide and alumina as support phase. physical mixing:usually, dry poeder of individual components are mixed and calcined to high temp. this can often a mixed phase by ionic interdiffusion. However, generally speaking, this method doesnt match up to those produced by the other methods which give a better characteristics... |
