NASA fund的项目,使用电子显微镜观察陨石/月岩等,在Caltech做冲击实验。有兴趣的同学请直接给我发邮件 (邮箱下附),有学术上的或者休斯顿大学生活相关的问题也可以交流。祝同学们申请顺利。 We are recruiting fully funded PhD students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at the University of Houston. The successful candidates will join assistant professor Jinping Hu’s group and work on: 1) metamorphism and alterations in planetary materials, primarily martian meteorites, using electron microscopy techniques; and/or 2) shock-wave dynamic compression experiments on planetary analogs. The projects will also involve isotope geochemistry and geochronology analyses under close collaboration with other faculty members in EAS as well as Caltech, JPL and New Mexico Tech. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree by the time of Fall 2026 enrollment. Strong background in physical science or engineering, self-motivation in research and enthusiasm for planetary science are highly preferred.
