1-2 PhD student positions Dr. Hao Chen is a full professor in the Department of Chemistry & Environmental Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT, https://www.njit.edu/), a top 100 National University by US News ranking. NJIT is a R1 research university and located in Newark of New Jersey, a state known for owning many world-class pharmaceutical companies such as Merck, BMS, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis. etc.. Our group research focuses on mass spectrometric study of environmental pollutant detection/degradation, organic reaction mechanism, electrochemistry and protein characterization, and Dr. Chen has over 160 papers published in peer-reviewed journals including Chem, Nature Commun., JACS, Angewante, etc. (H index: 52). Dr. Chen's group has extensive ongoing collaborations with many universities such as Columbia University and pharmaceutical/consumer product companies such as Merck, John&Johnson, Colgate. Dr. Chen’s group has 1-2 Ph.D. student position available for 2026 spring or fall, which provides a competitive stipend ($46,000/year) and fringe benefits with tuition being covered.
