[交流] 瑞士洛桑联邦理工学院(EPFL)Daryl Yee课题组3D打印、光固化方向博士招生

The Laboratory for the Chemistry of Materials and Manufacturing at EPFL has one PhD position available starting immediately. The position will be fully based in EPFL Neuchâtel.

There are two possible topics:
a) Fundamentals of crosslinking in vat photopolymerization
b) Microstructure control in vat photopolymerization

Required Candidate Profile:
• MSc. in materials science, chemistry, or polymer science
• Experience with materials characterization
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)

Priority will be given to candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following:
• Small-molecule and/or polymer synthesis
• Vat photopolymerization
• Polymer science
• Experience in building custom materials characterization, synthesis, and/or processing hardware

Expected start dates and durations:
The preferred start date will be Dec 2025. The next possible start date will be Feb 2026. The position is fully funded and will run for 4 – 4.5 years.

Principal Investigator of Alchemy:
Daryl W. Yee was born in Singapore, and obtained his B.Eng in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London, UK in 2014. He then earned his MSc. and Ph.D. in Materials Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), USA in 2016 and 2020 respectively. After obtaining his Ph.D., Daryl then joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, as a postdoctoral associate.

Daryl joined the Institute of Electrical and Micro Engineering at EPFL as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Microengineering in March 2023, where he leads the Laboratory for the Chemistry of Materials and Manufacturing (ALCHEMY). His research group seeks to utilize molecular design and accessible materials processing strategies to engineer advanced functional materials that will help tackle societal challenges in healthcare, energy, and climate change.
