[交流] 招2个计算材料学博士加拿大曼尼托巴大学

曼尼托巴大学（University of Manitoba，简称U of M或UM）是位于加拿大曼尼托巴省的一所公立研究大学。该大学因其作为顶尖的研究密集型高等教育机构而享有盛誉，每年进行的研究活动超过该地区的其他任何大学。机械工程系的教学和研究活动涵盖多个机械工程领域，包括固体力学、材料科学、流体力学、制造等。该系拥有多个成熟的实验室，能够处理先进合金材料、智能材料和振动系统的设计与测试，配备了高性能计算机、LMS数据采集系统、Polytec激光振动计、Nanosurf原子力显微镜、纳米压痕测试台和电子扫描/透射显微镜。通过 Compute Canada and WestGrid提供世界领先的高性能计算资源。

Main Research Direction: (1) Position 1 will focus on the structure, thermodynamics and/or kinetics of grain
boundaries in metals; (2) Position 2 will focus on the design and characterization of high-entropy steels. Both
positions will use atomistic simulations and machine learning as the main tools.

Fellowship: $25000 CAD/year

Requirements:
The candidate should
1) hold a M.Sc. degree in Materials Sciences, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related field;
2) have good communication skills (both writing and oral) in English；
3) have strong interests in atomistic simulations (MD, DFT, Monte Carlo, etc.) and machine learning. Previous
experience in these fields is not required but highly desired;
4) have good programming skills (python, C, Fortran, etc.).
