Graduate Student Positions in Quantum Photonic Devices and Systems at KAIST
The Quantum Semiconductor Photonic INtegration (Q-SPIN) Lab at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) in Korea invites applications for graduate student positions to work on quantum photonic devices and systems.
Our group aims to realize fully integrated photonic quantum computers by developing reprogrammable quantum photonic circuits with on-chip lasers, enabling scalable, high-performance quantum information processing.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will join our interdisciplinary team and contribute to:
• Performing optical simulations using state-of-the-art photonic design software
• Fabricating quantum photonic devices at KAIST’s quantum fab
• Characterizing quantum devices in our lab’s cutting-edge optical measurement setups
Qualifications
• Strong passion for pushing the boundaries of photonics and quantum technologies
• Good English reading and writing skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative research environment
Funding and Benefits
• Tuition fully covered
• Monthly stipend: 7,000–9,000 RMB (depending on qualifications and performance)
• Access to world-class research facilities and mentorship in both Mechanical Engineering and the Graduate School of Quantum Science and Technology
