我曾经为了这个定义头疼，偶然在网上找到了英文的原版和中文的简介，给大家分享一下。
The Kozak consensus sequence is gccgcc(A/G)ccAUGG, and is the sequence on an mRNA molecule recognized by the ribosome as the translational start site, from which point a protein is coded by that mRNA molecule. The ribosome requires this sequence, or a possible variation (see below) to initiate translation, or the production of protein. The Kozak sequence is not to be confused with the ribosomal binding site, that being either the 5′ cap of a messenger RNA, or mRNA, or an Internal Ribosome Entry Sequence, or IRES]
在真核生物中起始密码子几乎都是5—AUG—3，它包含在一段短的通用序列5—ACCAUGG—3，因而可以被识别，这段序列就是Kozak sequence 。看看下面的这个网页也可以。

Kozak consensus sequence只是一个统计的结果，并不是所有的整合生物蛋白ATG都处于Kozak consensus sequence 当中，只不过是可能有Kozak consensus sequence 蛋白被起始翻译高一点，很多表达载体上都加了Kozak consensus sequence的
