1. the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying pollutant uptake;
2. engineering approaches to optimize microalgal systems for enhanced removal efficiency;
3. the mathematical modeling of treatment processes;
4. the integration of microalgae into existing wastewater treatment infrastructures.

Contributions are also welcome on innovative cultivation strategies to boost biomass productivity and pollutant affinity; the valorization of pollutant-laden biomass; and investigations into the effects of environmental parameters, such as pH, salinity, and temperature, on remediation performance.
