The first version of the Intel oneAPI Toolkits was officially released on December 8, 2020. This marked the transition from Intel's previous proprietary programming models (like Intel Parallel Studio XE) to an open, unified, cross-architecture programming model centered around DPC++ (Data Parallel C++), an implementation based on SYCL. The goal of oneAPI was to simplify programming across CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and other accelerators using a single, standards-based approach. |
