satcom antenna mount design and optimization
location: doha, qatar
job summary:
we are seeking a talented and driven researcher experienced on the design, optimization, and refinement of a satcom antenna mount and associated motion parts. the role will involve gathering system requirements, performing structural simulations, creating 3d cad models, and utilizing generative design techniques to optimize performance in terms of weight, strength, durability, and functionality. the researcher will be expected to engage in iterative design processes, conduct physical testing, and contribute to key project milestones. the role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in satellite communications, blending design, simulation, and prototyping expertise.

key responsibilities:
•        gather and analyze system requirements for the satcom antenna mount.
•        understand the operating environment and develop initial design concepts.
•        evaluate stability and alignment configurations and perform structural simulations to assess design integrity.
•        analyze dynamic load response and select appropriate materials for the design.
•        create preliminary 3d cad models and conduct design reviews to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. select the optimal designs based on simulation results and perform detailed finite element analysis (fea).
•        work with the team to finalize the design for manufacturing and integration into the satcom system.
qualifications:
•        master of science in mechanical/materials engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related field.
•        a minimum of 3 years of relevant research or industry experience in structural design, cad modeling, and simulation, preferably in satcom, aerospace or automotive communications systems. experience in advanced design optimization techniques, including generative design, fea, and prototype testing.
•        hands-on experience in using cad software (e.g., solidworks, autocad, or catia) and simulation tools (e.g., ansys, abaqus, or comsol).
•        experience with generative design software (e.g., autodesk fusion 360 or similar) and physical prototyping techniques.
•        strong knowledge of structural mechanics, load response analysis, and dynamic simulations.
•        experience in material selection and optimization for weight, strength, and durability.
•        expertise in the iterative design process, including prototyping, testing, and refining designs based on simulation results.
•        familiarity with manufacturing processes and ensuring design compatibility with production methods.
communication skills:
•        strong written and verbal communication skills in english, with the ability to prepare clear reports and present findings.
•        ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and communicate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
contract period: +18months

有生成设计软件(如autodesk fusion 360或类似软件)和物理原型制作技术的经验。
