美国加州圣塔克拉拉大学计算机科学与工程系招收全奖博士生 (长期有效) PhD Positions in Deep Learning/Computer Vision Ph.D. positions with full financial support are now available in Dr. Ying Liu’s group in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Santa Clara University (SCU). Dr. Liu is looking for self-motivated PhD students to work on image/video compression, vision-language model, deep learning. The PhD program has three start dates: • Fall Quarter starts in September; • Winter Quarter starts in January; • Spring Quarter starts in late March. Dr. Ying Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Santa Clara University. She graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, The State University of New York at Buffalo. Her main research interests are in deep learning-based image and video processing and coding, coding for machines, point cloud coding, vision-language models, and generative AI. She is a member of IEEE and a member of SPIE. Her research articles are published in prestigious journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM), IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems (JETCAS), Pattern Recognition (Elsevier), and many flagship conferences. She serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, and she also serves as the technical program committee member of multiple international conferences. She is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA) US Chapter. Requirements: • M.S. degree (or about to graduate) in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automation. The school policy does not accept undergraduate students’ applications, sorry. • Solid mathematical background and strong programming skills in Python, Matlab and C++. • Experience in image processing, video coding, deep learning, or computer vision. Experience in deep learning programming such as tensorflow, pytorch, keras. • GRE score. (The school policy cannot waive GRE, sorry) • TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo scores for international students. • Strong motivation in cutting-edge research and paper publication.
