Open PhD position for August 2025 intake at Syracuse University, New York, United States

The principal investigator, Prof. Quinn Qiao, focuses on the fabrication of energy storage materials and devices, including Solid-state electrolyte synthesis for Lithium-ion batteries, and-LMRO cathode synthesis for high energy density Li-metal and Li-ion batteries is looking for a self-motivated and independent PhD candidate who would like to work in these fields with us. The candidate should have outstanding academic performance and research experience in electrochemistry, solid-state physics, materials engineering, chemical engineering, etc.

Requirements

1. MS degree (total 30 credits) with a minimum CGPA of 3.6/4.0 is required.
2. Publications as the first author in a related field are a bonus.
3. Experiences in device fabrication, glovebox work, and electrochemical measurements are preferred.
4. Candidates with industry exposure in related fields are also encouraged to apply.

1. A competitive graduate Research/Teaching Assistantship for the entire study duration and coverage of tuition credits(18) required for the PhD degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Syracuse University.
