We are currently looking for highly motivated postdocs, master students and bachelor students. Become part of our team and take the next step on your academic and professional journey.
We are hiring!!!
We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher in the field of experimental condensed matter physics to join our Complex Oxide Systems group at Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), Austria.
The postdoctoral researcher will be engaged in cutting-edge research in the field of free-standing ultrathin magnetic oxide heterostructures. The research will involve growing atomically precise oxide layers using state-of-the-art RHEED-equipped sputtering techniques, and generating novel artificial layered magnetic oxide structures. The researcher will be responsible for conducting advanced characterization of the emerging electronic properties (magnetism, transport) of the free-standing heterostructures. Additionally, measurements will be conducted in large-scale facilities.
The researcher will be based in the stimulating multidisciplinary environment of the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien, Austria), providing ample opportunities for collaboration with leading international experimental and theoretical groups. Active participation in international conferences and mentorship of junior colleagues will also be integral components of this role. The position is for a maximum of six years. The expected start date is as soon as possible.
To be a successful candidate, you should possess a PhD in experimental condensed matter, an excellent academic record, good communicative skills, and strong self-motivation. You should also be technically skilled, and knowledge of programming is advantageous. Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
We look forward to receiving your application, which should include a cover letter (outlining your motivation and skills), a CV and the contact details of at least two academic referees.
Please direct your applications and questions to Prof. Marta Gibert (gibert@ifp.tuwien.ac.at).
