怎样背单词？/how to memorize words? it is normal that we forget words. some books tell us on how to memeorize words, but it is not practical so much. so what is the best way to memorize words? remember that when we are going write test like TOEFL or IELTS, we need to know about 6,000 words, so we have to memorize some new words. and also remember that those 6,000 words are not for our life, they are just for the test. and most of us have to pass the test maybe in 2-3 months. and the question that comes to us is : how to memorize those 6,000 words in 2-3 months? first of all, most of us know about 4,000 words good, and we just have 2,000 words left. those 2,000 words are totally new to us. but we have to know them good too. second, those 6,000 words are not from a dictionary. you can't pick up a dictionary and try to memorize thme from A-Z. those words shoud be tested in real TEOFL or IELTS test. currently we have those words for TOEFL. you can memorize them hereVocabulary words for TOEFL reading. for IELTS, we don't have them yet, because IELTS is a little bit new, but we will put wrods for IELTS too in the near future. third, when you memorize words, try to memorize words as much as possible in one day. i give you an example, if you memorize just 50 words a day, basically we forget at least 40% of the words at the second day, so we just know about 30 new words good. but if we memorize 500 words a day, if we just memorize 20% of them, we know 100 new words. and you need to "repeat " those words second day. you may ask that it is a big job try to memorize 500 words a day. yes , it is. but we have a way to deal with it. first , don't memorize the meaning of the words by "English", use your own language, this will be much faster. second, don't try to memorize all the meaning of the word, just the "main meaning" of the word. what is the "main meaning" of the word ? the "synonym" of the word . some of them don't want to memorize words and try to "guess" the meaning of the word in the sentence. this is not good. "guess" the words will not guarantee 100% correct. and test is a competition, if you guess, but others don't , you know what the results of the test will be. |
