请教投过JOURNAL OF POLYMER SCIENCE PART A 的虫友门,象我这种EDITOR给MAJOR REVISION的中的机会有多大?特别想请那些也大修过的虫友门谈谈体会,忠心感谢!先发10个祈福![]() Reviewer: 1 Comments for Authors This manuscript describes a facile method to prepare hollow silica particles. It is interesting that the diameter and thickness can be easily controlled. The reviewer considers that it will be acceptable for publication in Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry if the following points are properly revised. 1. Dissolution and removal of PS core should be confirmed by other methods than TEM such as TGA or elemental analysis. 2. Please give data of particle diameter distributions. 3. On line 4 from the bottom of page 4, the authors described that addition of 20 mL dichloromethane can disperse hollow silica shell into polymer chains. The meaning is hard to be understood. Please explain the phenomena in detail. Reviewer: 2 Comments for Authors This paper reports a facile, effective, mild synthesis process for well-defined hollow spheres by using cationic polystyrene submicro-particles as templates. The paper contains some important aspects. Particularly, the authors showed that monodisperse hollow silica spheres with controlled shell thickness could be fabricated without the high temperature calcination process. However, my general impression is that the present manuscript doesn’t fulfill the requirements to be published as an article in Journal of Polymer Science Part:A Polymer Chemistry. I think that the authors don’t show the sufficient experimental evidence in this paper. For example, there is no evidence for the hollow silica spheres without TEM and SEM measurements. The authors should show the additional evidence using elemental analysis, FT-IR, and BET N2 adsorption method, and so on. Furthermore, I doubt if the obtained monodisperse hollow silica spheres can disperse in solvents. From SEM observation (Figure 3), I think that some silica spheres are fused, and rarely disperse in solvents. The authors should show the solvent dispersibility of these hollow silica spheres using the additional experiments (for example, DLS measurement). I recommend that the authors resubmit the revised manuscript containing the additional experimental results. |
