Job Description Dr. Sun’s Lab (https://www.wsunlab.net/) at Virginia Tech is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Postdoc Associate (starting immediately). Dr. Sun's research focuses on drug delivery and gene therapy. By integrating techniques from biomaterial engineering, biomolecular engineering, and nanotechnology, Dr. Sun’s lab aims to conquer the challenges in engineering better medicine. This postdoc position prefers candidates with experience in gene delivery, such as CRISPR or nucleic acid delivery. Skills in molecular biology, nano-formulation, cell studies, and animal studies are expected. Strong candidates in the overall field of drug delivery are also welcome. Qualifications Candidates are expected to have a recent Ph.D. degree (within the past 2 years) in Pharmaceutical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Good written and oral communication skills, proactive, perseverant, and eager to learn. Passionate about mentoring students. About PI Dr. Wujin Sun joined the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech in September 2021 as an Assistant Professor. Previously, he did his postdoctoral training at UCLA with Dr. Ali Khademhosseini. He completed his Ph.D. studies in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University with Dr. Zhen Gu. He is interested in integrating biomaterial engineering and cell engineering for healthcare applications.
