doctoral researcher (multisensory consumer experiences in metaverse)

we are looking for highly motivated researchers, interested in understanding how immersive technologies and information systems (e.g. metaverse, vr, ar, mr and xr) would reshape consumer experience in the service and marketing context. the position is associated with the business finland funded research project ??metamarketing | consumer decision-making in multisensory and multiuser metaverse marketing?? led by dr. nannan xi and dr. juho hamari and academy of finland profi 6 funded profiling area ??games as a platform to tackle grand challenges. the accepted candidate will work in the unit of information and knowledge management at the faculty of management and business, and in close collaboration with the members of the gamification group.

metamarketing (marketing in metaverse) project aims to facilitate the upgrading and transformation of finnish service, media, and traditional industry towards fully digitalized business model by providing xr solutions for immersive consumer experiences in a sustainable way. the dissemination of knowledge to the finnish service and marketing industry will have a significant and synergistic impact on the european marketing landscape that combines marketing with the strong european information and communication technology industry. furthermore, the cross-cultural investigation on virtual consumers, especially generation z will provide valuable knowledge and guidance for finnish companies?? global marketing strategies when entering the metaverse.  

requirements - applicants are required to possess some of the following abilities:
design, development & programming skills: e.g., designing and developing vr/ar platform, 3d gaming environments or 3d modeling and rendering, implementing multimodal interfaces and psychophysiological measurements in virtual environments; and
experiment-based research skill: designing and conducting laboratory or field experiments, conducting psychophysiological measurements and quantitative data analysis; or
qualitative research skill: designing and conducting qualitative research (such as interviews, workshops and focus groups), familiarity with qualitative data analysis

we offer
duration: the position will be filled for a fixed-term period until the end of 2026, with a possibility for extension.
starting date: immediately or as soon as possible. a trial period of six (6) months applies to all our new employees.
salary: salary will be based on both the job requirements and the employee??s personal performance in accordance with the finnish university salary system. according to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of a doctoral researcher is placed on level 2-4 of the job requirements scale. a typical starting salary for a doctoral researcher is approximately 2600 ? per month. the salary increases based on the progression of doctoral research and studies.
