新加坡千禧奖学金（SMFPDF） _____________________________________________ SINGAPORE MILLENNIUM FOUNDATION POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP (SMF PDF) – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS The Singapore Millennium Foundation (SMF) is offering the Singapore Millennium Postdoctoral Fellowships (SMF PDF) to outstanding graduate research scientists at postdoctoral level to support their full-time research efforts at a Singapore university or research institute. SMF will award a monthly grant* of $6,000 for every successful candidate. (* where applicable, the Grant will support Gross Salary, Employer’s CPF, SDF and Contribution to Government Organisation (CDAC, MBMF, SINDA or ECF) Applicants who are interested in a PDF position at NUS should liaise with the relevant NUS faculty to prepare research project proposals. The fellowships are awarded based on the quality of research projects proposed by applicants along with the previous records of the applicants and hosting scientific advisors. To meet the needs of a changing and dynamic environment, the research areas supported by SMF for the upcoming selection are: • Environmental Science, Renewable Resources & Water • Engineering • Physical and Materials Science • Life Sciences (1) How to apply Please visit http://www.nus.edu.sg/dpr/funding/SMF_PDF.htm for details. (2) Application flow 1 Applicants submit complete application package to Departments. (departments may set your own cut-off date to receive applications, which depends on how much time needed for processing) (suggest to allow max. 5 – 7 days to process before submitting the complete package to VDRO) 2 Departments should submit shortlisted & endorsed applications to Vice-Dean Research Office (VDRO). Prepare summary of applicants in Excel file provided in this email and forward it, together with the complete application package to VDRO (pls see following admin guidelines). Shortlisted Applications must reach VDRO by 18 Jan 2010, Monday (2pm). 3 We seek your understanding that late submissions will not be accepted. (3) Administrative guidelines (i) Please brief all endorsed applicants on the terms of the scheme (see 4ii). (ii) List of DRA required documents is found at http://www.nus.edu.sg/dpr/funding/SMF_PDF.htm. Kindly ensure that all application documents are complete. Attached are forms for your reference. For all applications, please forward one set of hardcopy and one set of soft copy to VDRO. (iii) Result of the SMF 2010 applications is expected to be announced in June 2010. (4) Documents to be forwarded to VDRO: (i) Application package as detailed in http://www.nus.edu.sg/dpr/funding/SMF_PDF.htm . (ii) Briefing forms.
