仅限985学校哈～UCL-CSC公派全奖 PhD studentships University College London, UK / Chinese Scholarship Council Applications are invited for a 4-year PhD studentship in the Computational Physics and Chemistry group of Professor Jochen Blumberger, University College London, UK. The PhD project may be carried out in one of the following areas. Computational Electrochemistry: Development and application of reactive machine learning/neural network potentials for simulation of chemical transformations (CO2 reduction, H2 evolution) at oxide/catalyst/water interfaces. Bioelectronics: Development of coarse grained electronic Hamiltonians for non-adiabatic dynamics simulation of charge transport and current-voltage response in gold-protein-gold electronic junctions. Solar Cell Materials: Development and application of non-adiabatic molecular dynamics methods for simulation of exciton transport and dissociation at organic donor-acceptor interfaces and single component organic solar cells. All projects will be carried out in close collaboration with leading experimental partner laboratories. Access to high performance computing facilities will be provided. Interested candidates may want to take a look at recent group publications in the field, listed on the group website https://blumberger.net/ Highly motivated students from Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science Departments are strongly encouraged to apply. Please note, only Chinese citizens are eligible for this studentship. Very good knowledge in quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics is expected. Good skills in scripting and programming (e.g., python, fortran, c++….) is an advantage. Interested candidates are requested to send a CV and a transcript of undergraduate studies (and Master studies if applicable) to Prof Jochen Blumberger, j.blumberger@ucl.ac.uk, as soon as possible and by 8. December 2023 at the latest. Suitable candidates are then invited to apply together with the supervisor to the UCL’s Dean Prize which will cover all tuition fees for 4 years. If successful, the candidate then applies to the Chinese Scholarship Council which covers living expenses for 4 years.
