Reviewer #1: A cross-sectional study that evaluates whether there is a positive association between BMI and kidney stone disease in diabetic population by using the NHANES data. My comments are listed below: 1. Although the manuscript has been written in good English, there are still some spelling and punctuation errors (i.e., with Kidney stones..., Then We separated... , "with an older age" instead of "a larger age" on line 163, etc.) to be corrected. 2. The lines have been numbered, which facilitates to locate a comment, but it would be better if the pages are also numbered. 3. The abbreviations SII, PIR, BMI should be written openly when they are first used in the Abstract. 4. Line 148: It is not written how the patients have been divided into three groups according to their BMI values. Could you please give the cut-off values for each group? 5. Line 165: Does "triplets of age" mean grouped by three consecutive ages? If yes, I wonder why the authors have not used it as a continuous variable. 6. Lines 179-181: The authors mentioned that the correlation between BMI and kidney stones was much stronger in the study of Feng et al. (reference #11). However, they have concluded that the individuals with a BMI of greater than 30 were more strongly connected with kidney stone. Do the authors have an explanation for this? Moreover, the results of three-group interaction tests can be given in a separate table. 7. Maybe the subtitle "The association between BMI and kidney stones" can be changed as "Multivariate analysis of BMI and kidney stones" as the previous subtitle mentioned about the univariate analysis. 8. The tables have been located on separate pages which makes it difficult to read and have a general insight. Reviewer #2: 1. The English language in this search should be revised specifically the link between phrases. 2. In this study, the author did not refer to the type of diabetes (type I or type II), as the pathogenesis and the treatment options are different, and the author did not mention the level of the blood sugar. 3. Abbreviations should be mentioned at the beginning of the text as many are not universal, such as PIR (poverty income rate) 发自小木虫IOS客户端 |
