Postdoc positions at University of Connecticut Health Center

Postdoctoral positions are available at the Department of Medicine and Orthopaedics in Farmington, Connecticut, USA, through NIH funded program. The main research focus of Dr. Lorenzo is progenitor cell biology and understanding mechanism of osteoclastogenesis in homeostasis and inflammatory state. Studies will involve using transgenic and knockout mice in regulation of osteoclast differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells, their migration and function in healthy mice and during systemic inflammation or facture healing. Responsibilities will include discussion and planning of experimental designs, completion of experiments using established in vitro and in vivo models, presentation of data within institution and at international conferences and preparation of manuscripts. Applicants must have a Ph.D., good command of the English language and good interpersonal skills. Experience in a hematopoiesis, bone or orthopedic-related field would be advantageous, but is not critical. USA citizens/permanent residents will have an opportunity to compete for a T90 training position funded by NIDCR.
