明尼苏达大学药学院Hongbo  Pang实验室诚招博后(纳米,药物化学,免疫等方向)

明尼苏达大学拥有全美前三的药学院以及一众世界著名的理工科相关院系,以及著名的医学院及癌症研究中心。Dr. Pang的实验室就位于新建的Masonic Cancer Center building, 环境优美,设施先进。课题组致力于研发基于多肽的靶向药物,疾病靶点的筛选及研发,以及纳米材料运输的应用及机理研究。自2018年成立以来,课题组已获得美国国立卫生院,明尼苏达州政府(与梅奥诊所合作),以及明大的多项基金,总计超过三百万美元(direct cost)。课题组至今在知名期刊发表十余篇论文,以及多项专利。Dr.Pang还参与了多个初创公司以转化研究成果,并于今年刚刚创立了Boyan Therapeutics。详情请见实验室网页,google scholar,以及Lisata Therapeutics (NASDAQ: LSTA)。

Postdoctoral positions in University of Minnesota, Minneapolis

2-3 postdoctoral positions are immediately available in Dr. Hongbo Pang lab, Department of Pharmaceutics, College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota (Minneapolis). UMN College of Pharmacy is ranked 3rd of pharmacy school nationwide according to U.S.News. Dr. Pang did his postdoc training with Dr. Erkki Ruoslahti, who is a world-renowned scientist in phage display/peptide therapeutics, and the Lasker Awardee in 2022. Pang lab harnesses interdisciplinary technologies to discover peptide-based targeting tools and novel biomarkers, develop novel peptide-based therapies for a variety of diseases, and explore novel cellular and physiological processes. Our group has been highly productive: since established in 2018, thirteen research articles have been published in high impact journals along with multiple patents. We also received multiple major NIH, State and University grants, which sums up to over $3 Million. Besides research, Dr. Pang is also active in biotech entrepreneurship. He is involved in Lisata Therapeutics (NASDAQ: LSTA) and the founder of Boyan Therapeutics.

For these positions, we are looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals to join in our research effort of developing peptide-based therapeutics against a wide variety of human diseases, especially acute and chronic inflammatory conditions. Another major direction is to explore the roles of extracellular vesicles in transport macromolecule drugs into solid tumors and other tissue types. The successful candidate will be also tasked/involved with projects ranging from peptide screening, disease modeling, peptide-drug/nanotechnology synthesis and therapeutic evaluation. Our current group is highly interdisciplinary with experts in material sciences, disease modeling, immunology, obesity, cell biology, and so on. Collaboration within the group as well as externally is highly encouraged.

We are interested in applicants holding a PhD degree in a broad range of biomedical or material science fields. Candidates with experience in nanotechnology or medicinal chemistry, disease modeling, immunology or molecular/cell biology are highly encouraged to apply. The candidates are also expected to have outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication and writing skills.
