position title: lab manager/lab assistant department: materials science and engineering report to: associate prof. haijin zhu start date: asap type of position: full-time number of hiring: 2 position description guangdong technion - israel institute of technology (gtiit) is a state-of-the-art research university (https://www.gtiit.edu.cn/en) established by the technion-israel institute of technology (haifa, israel), shantou university, the li ka-shing foundation and the government in shantou, china. technion is a world-leading institute of higher education with three nobel laureates and remains top 50 in global research-based university rankings. prof. zhu has worked in multiple countries and institutions including max-planck institute for polymer (mainz germany), eindhoven university of technology (netherlands), deakin university (australia), university of the basque country (san sebastian spain) and csiro (australia). he has intensive experiences in electrochemistry, polymer materials, as well as fuel cell and water electrolysis technologies. he has published over 120 sci papers to date and has an h-index of 30 (as of feb 2023). in march 2023 he joined gtiit as an associate professor, leading a research group with main focus on the development of next-generation materials for energy storage and conversion applications. prof. zhu is looking for several a motivated and competent lab manager and several research assistants. (https://www.gtiit.edu.cn/en/viewstaff.aspx?staffno=242) duties and responsibilities · synthesis of new polymers; preparation and characterization of electrolyte materials; lithium battery cell assembly and testing. · preparation of experimental reports/paper manuscripts/research funds · maintain and adjust laboratory equipment. · training and co-supervision of undergraduates/masters/phds selection criteria: · phd (for lab manager) or msc (for lab assistant) in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or other relevant program. (essential) 化学，化学工程，材料学等相关专业的博士或者硕士。（必要） · hands-on experience with polymer synthesis or any other organic synthesis. (essential) 有高分子合成或者其它有机化合物合成经验。（必要） · experience with one or more of the following areas: electrochemistry/lithium-ion battery/electrolyte materials/ionic liquids (preferred). 有以下相关领域的工作经验：电化学/锂电池/电解质材料/离子液体。（优先） · publication record as the first author. (essential) 有一作论文发表经历。（必要） · experience with fund application is a plus. (preferred) 有基金申请经验优先。（优先） · passionate in scientific research, and self-motivated.
