The purpose of the position is to undertake research and development of the architecture of an electric powerplant for aviation, including detailed diagrams to integrate the powerplant itself and the ground rig to test the full system, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) components . The role of Research Associate reports to Dr Branislav Hredzak, Professor John Fletcher and the Dovetail Aeronautical Pty Ltd management. Dovetail Electric Aviation Pty Ltd (Dovetail) is a company formed to lead the regional and general aviation industry into an exciting new, sustainable era by enabling aviation operators to fly commercially viable regional routes in nil emission, electric powered aircraft. The revolution is going to start with small aircrafts first, and new entrants will lead the change. Dovetail is undertaking the conversion of the first Cessna Caravan into full electric in Australia, and potentially the world. We have set up an aggressive objective to obtain an STC for the electric conversion in 2025.
