Postdoc Research Associate --- NOAHS Lab Baylor University The Nano-Optics and Advanced Health-Sensing (NOAHS) Lab at Baylor University is looking for a Postdoc Research Associate who will focus on the research of integrated photonics. The Postdoc will have the opportunity to collaborate with Intel Corp. for the development of ultra-low voltage, high bandwidth silicon microring modulators driven by transparent conductive oxides. The position is renewable each year based on performance and availability of continued funding. Responsibility of this position include: • Design of high-speed optical modulators that will be fabricated by Intel 300 mm SOI wafer process or other commercial photonic integrated circuit shuttles • Fabrication of photonic devices and subsystems using electron beam lithography, sputtering, etching, atomic layer deposition, and evaporation • Characterization of high-speed optoelectronic devices using vector network analyzer, arbitrary wave generator and digital communication analyzer • Mentoring PhD students and collaborate with industrial partners • Participate in the preparation and writing of journal manuscripts and conference papers, presentations, and/or posters. The NOAHS Lab is led by Prof. Alan Wang, who is the Mearse Endowed Chair Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. During his research career, Prof. Wang has raised over $9M dollars in externally funded research from the NSF, AFOSR, DARPA, NIH, NASA and USDA, along with industry sponsors such as Intel and Hewlett Packard. He has more than 110 journal publications and 120 conference presentations including 18 plenary/invited presentations. He also holds seven granted or pending U.S. patents. More information about Prof. Wang can be found at: https://www.baylor.edu/mediacomm ... mp;amp;story=224109 https://sites.baylor.edu/alan_wang/ Interested candidates can directly contact Prof. Alan Wang at alan_wang@baylor.edu About Baylor University: Located in Waco, Texas, Baylor University is a private university and is the oldest college in Texas. With a population of 21,000 diverse students, Baylor is one of the rising research universities in the nation, having been named an R1 institution by the Carnegie Classification in January 2022. Baylor offers competitive salaries and benefits to Postdoc Research Associate. Minimum Required Qualifications: • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field. • Strong background in optics/photonics and solid state physics. • Research experience with integrated photonics, silicon photonics, cleanroom fabrication, and optical device characterization. |
