South China Normal University has a vacancy for a Research Assistant in the field of responsive materials based on liquid crystal polymers. Description: South China Normal University in Guangzhou has an open research assistant position in the group Device Integrated Responsive Materials (DIRM) under supervision of Prof. Laurens de Haan. DIRM was jointly founded between South China Normal University and Eindhoven university of Technology in the Netherlands, and specializes in responsive organic materials based on liquid crystals and polymers. Tasks: The candidate is expected to carry out original research on the topic of responsive liquid crystal polymer materials, including polymer synthesis, device preparation, and optical and chemical analysis. In addition, the candidate will assist the students in the team with their projects. Requirements: For this position we are looking for a motivated and skilled candidate with a PhD degree and a strong record in organic materials, supramolecular chemistry and/or polymer materials. He has published papers in high ranked journals such as Advanced Functional Materials, JACS, and Angewandte Chemie.
