PhD position for neuroscience and translational research of neurology Job announcement: Dr. Lin Li's lab in the Department of biomedical engineering at the University of North Texas is currently accepting applications for a Ph.D. candidate to join their team as a fully supported graduate research assistant. The successful candidate will focus on in-vivo and in-vitro studies of biomarkers related to early-stage Alzheimer's disease and its prevention. As part of this role, you will be responsible for tasks such as animal surgery, neural probe implantation and recording, and the testing of preventive therapies. By intervening during the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, it may be possible to delay or even prevent the onset of more severe symptoms. additionally, effective management of Alzheimer's disease can also reduce the risk of associated complications such as epilepsy. through your work, you will contribute to a deeper understanding of the latent period of Alzheimer's disease and develop preventive tools that target key biomarkes. we are looking for highly motivated candidates with a background in neuroscience and bioengineering and a strong interest in neuroscience and neurology research. the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of neuroscience and previous experience with animal experiments, animal surgery, or immunohistochemistry. you will work on this project in collaboration with the UCLA department of neurology seizure disorder center. the candidate is expected to start the program in fall 2023. applicants are requested to send their short introduction and cv to Dr. Lin Li (lin.li@unt.edu). |
