General information

Job description
The PhD position is available in the UCCS laboratory of French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in the University of Lille. The projects is focused on the photocatalytic valorization of methane by the development of new efficient catalytic materials and catalytic routes for the conversion of methane molecules to valuable products.
Requirements
The applicant must have achieved a master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry or chemical engineering. The candidate is a highly motivated, enthusiastic researcher and has a strong interest in heterogeneous catalysis. The experience in photo- and electrocatalysis is highly appreciated.  Fluency in written and spoken English is required. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and cooperate with other researchers in an interdisciplinary group.
Conditions of employment
The candidate is offered a full-time position for 3 years. Remuneration: € 2,135.00 gross per month. The travel costs will be in charge of the laboratory.

Unité de Catalyse et Chimie du Solide (UCCS) (http://uccs.univ-lille.fr) is a joint laboratory of the CNRS and its academic partners: University of Lille, University of Artois, and Centrale Lille. The research is conducted in two main scientific fields: Energy and sustainable development, which are divided into three areas: heterogeneous catalysis, catalysis and molecular chemistry, and solid-state chemistry. The research will be performed in the (CEMOP) “Catalysis for Energy and Synthesis of Platform Molecules” Team (https://www.suscat.org/) under the supervision of Prof. Andrei Khodakov and Vitaly Ordomsky. The specificity of the scientific approach of the team is to cover the entire technological chain of processing and synthesis of platform molecules and clean fuels from catalyst design to pilot reactors.
