[交流] 澳大利亚Monash University智能交通方向招生

Dr. Zhuo Chen from Monash University is looking for a Ph.D. student in activity-based modeling of sustainable transport in urban areas.

The student is expected to work at the Monash Clayton campus (Melbourne, Australia) for 1 year and at Monash Suzhou research institute for 2.5 years. The student will be funded through a university scholarship, including a four-year tuition waiver and 3.5-year living stipends (60k RMB/year in Suzhou and 33k AUD/year in Melbourne).

Monash University is a member of the group of eight, an alliance of leading Australian universities recognized for their excellence in teaching and research. Transportation science & technology in Monash is ranked 34th in the world (academic ranking of world universities, 2022).

Required qualifications:
1. a master's degree in transportation engineering or transportation-related disciplines (civil eng, mechanical eng, statistics, it, gis, cs, etc.) from a renowned university;
2. educational background/research experience in management science is considered a plus;
3. applicants with a B.S. degree from a top university will also be considered;
4. an average grade of 85/100 is required; applicants with lower grades but first-authored paper(s) from top peer-review journals will also be considered.
5. English proficiency requirements: IELTS: 6.5 (min 6.0 each band score); Toefl: 79 (reading: 13; listening: 12, writing: 21, speaking: 18)

Preferred qualifications:
1. a strong background in one of the following areas: numerical optimization, transportation modeling, agent-based modeling, big data analysis, geographic analysis;
2. excellent written and oral communication skills;
3. fluent in at least one programming language (python, java, etc.).
