导师简介:
Dr. Shan Jiang于 2014 年获得美国密苏里大学哥伦比亚分校(University of Missouri-Columbia) 土木工程博士学位，研究方向是多尺度计算方法及其在结构和材料设计分析中的应用。同期获得大连理工大学计算力学博士 （双学位），研究方向是低维金属纳米材料极端荷载下的力学行为。Dr. Jiang 博士毕业后进入计算化学领域从事博士后研究，主要研究方向是含能材料及冲击力学的仿真建模。 Dr. Jiang 于 2016 年 11 月起担任密西西比大学机械工程系助理教授，预计在2023年8月起担任机械工程系副教授。其实验室主要研究方向是基于粒子的多尺度仿真建模研究，分子动力学材料模拟，有限元及无网格法，应用领域是增材制造3D打印，先进结构和新材料设计，土壤、矿物及生物材料的力学分析。

One Ph.D. and one Master’s research assistant position in Dr. Shan Jiang’s Computational Mechanics Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mississippi are available immediately. The positions are expected to start in Fall 2023 but can be as early as June 2023 if possible. Successful candidates will participate in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research team and will be involved in projects pursuing research in the field of advanced materials modeling, additive manufacturing, and materials behavior under extreme loading conditions. Applicants in the areas of computational mechanics, solid mechanics, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, or other closely related fields are welcome.
Requirements:
1. A B.S. or B.E. in engineering (mechanical, materials science) or physics. M.S. or M. E. is a plus.
2. Research experience in the following areas is favorable: finite element modeling, meshless methods, DFT calculation, atomistic simulations (molecular dynamics and/or Monte Carlo method), and coarse-grained modeling. Multiscale modeling skills will be particularly favorable.
3. GRE exam scores (by Fall 2023)
Experience in programming for high-performance computing is desirable but not required.
