Job Summary: The main research project is to study the role of alpha-synuclein in regulating SNARE-mediated membrane fusion as well as the formation of liquid-liquid phase with synaptic vesicles and proteins. We use reconstituted systems with recombinant proteins for in vitro analysis. Particular emphasis is on mechanistic studies using super-resolution microscope, single-molecule fluorescence, cryo-electron microscopy approaches.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomaterials, Bioengineering, Biomedicine, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Ideal Qualifications: Strong expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology techniques, in particular protein expression, purification and characterization.
