Multiple postdoc and research assistant positions are available in the group of Prof. Shenghan Zhang, in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), in the broad area of structural health monitoring and structural engineering. We work on combining advanced sensing technologies with models to give condition assessment and diagnostics of civil infrastructure.

For Postdoctoral Researchers:
The monthly salary is HK$ 32,000, with an appointment duration of 24 months.
Your profile:
• You have a PhD / will graduate soon from a top university.
• You have one or two publications in the top journals of your field.
• You have the ability to develop and realize a research idea independently.
• It would be beneficial if your research area matches one of the following:
Computational mechanics / Numerical modeling / Large scale testing
Machine learning / Artificial intelligence/ Uncertainty quantification

For Research Assistant:
The monthly salary is HK$ 21,000, with an appointment duration of 24 months.
Your profile:
• You have a Master / Bachelor degree in civil engineering or related fields from a top university.
• A strong background in mechanics and mathematics is required.
• Strong experiences in structural analysis software are preferred.
• You are proficient in spoken and written English.
