CSC doctoral student recruitment

The Ultrafast Chemical Dynamics group, part of the Spectroscopy of Cold Molecules department at Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands, is looking to recruit CSC doctoral students. The research group of Assistant Prof. Daniel Horke (https://www.ultrafast-chemistry.com) is dedicated to the development of new experimental techniques to study and understand fundamental chemical processes at ultrafast timescales. In our experiments we combine and develop state-of-the-art experimental methods, such as ultrafast lasers, strong-field control of molecules and charged-particle velocity-map imaging. In particular we are looking for students to join our ongoing efforts on isomer-resolved ultrafast dynamics, with a particular focus to extend this work to biological systems such as amino acids and nucleobases. We are looking for excellent students with a background in physical chemistry or molecular physics, that are hard working, enthusiastic and creative problem solvers. In our group you will work with world-leading equipment and infrastructure, and pick up a wide variety of skills - from cold molecular beams, to ultrafast optics and photoelectron imaging. About Dr. Horke: he obtained his PhD from Durham University (UK), and then joined the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (DESY, Hamburg, Germany) first as a postdoc and later as a Team Leader. Since 2019 he is Assistant Professor and group leader at Radboud University. |
