CSC PhD student (f/m/d) Study of dynamic wetting via molecular simulation Through cutting-edge research in the fields of ENERGY, HEALTH and MATTER, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) solves some of the pressing societal and industrial challenges of our time. Join our 1.500 employees from more than 50 nations at one of our six research sites and help us moving research to the next level! The institute of fluid dynamics is conducting fundamental and applied research in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics in order to improve the sustainability, the energy efficiency and the safety of industrial processes. The topics are embedded in the research field Energy. As part of the Institute, we are seeking a talented and highly motivated PhD student in order to explore the mechanisms underlying liquid wetting dynamics using molecular dynamics simulations. Your Tasks: • Investigate the effect of surface characteristics on liquid dynamic contact angle • Perform Molecular Dynamics simulations using Lammps software • Analyze the interactions between the liquid dynamic contact angle and complex surface characteristics (surface structure, materials property, surface charge etc.) in full speed regime. • Finish your PhD thesis Your Profile: • Good communication and writing skills in English • Basic knowledge in the Molecular Dynamics simulations • Graduated degree in Mech.
