德国马普高分子所MPIP招收PhD/Post-doc position

we offer a phd position in the field of peptide self-assembly. the aim of this project is a comprehensive understanding on the role of the peptide chemical structure and processing parameters on their self-assembly properties. the control over the long-range molecular organization will enable the implementation of the peptides in novel bioelectronics such as for monitoring of neuronal cell-2-cell communication. the selfassembly peptide networks can be also exploited to study difficult-to-culture neuron cells and their response to different chemical signals in the form of bioactive sequences. the research areas include fundamental physical chemistry of solution deposited peptides and neuronal cell structure for bioelectronic applications. the candidate will gain fundamental knowledge in meniscus guide coating, self-assembly of biomolecules and important characterization techniques. the phd position in the material science group supervised by dr. tomasz marszalek in the department of molecular electronics at the max planck institute for polymer research in mainz is available immediately. requirements we are looking for a highly motivated student supported by daad, marie-curie or csc scholarship with a background either in physics, chemistry, polymer science, materials science or related fields, to carry out the following tasks: 1. processing of biomolecules (peptides) thin films, 2. micro- and macrostructure characterization including secondary structure, 3. optical and afm characterization and evaluation of key processing parameters. send your cover letter, cv and two reference letters as a single pdf file to dr. tomasz marszalek (marszalek@mpip-mainz.mpg.de) as a single pdf file. the cover letter must include the reasons why you want to join the group, a summary of your academic and research interests/achievements, and the earliest starting date. please have the term “phd or post-doc application_yourname” written in the subject line of your email. |
