Fully-Funded PhD Studentship in 5G Leaky-wave Antenna Design Target qualification: PhD Location: Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Funding for: UK students, EU students, or International students Funding amount: Full tuition fee waiver for four years plus an annual stipend of ¡ê20,000+ including internship payment (funded by MathWorks) Mode of study: Full Time Anticipated starting time: 1st October 2023 or earlier (negotiable) Application deadline: 31st December 2023 Principal Supervisor: Dr. Bo Liu (University of Glasgow) on AI-driven antenna design, Dr. Chaoyun Song (Heriot-Watt University) and Dr. Lei Wang (Heriot-Watt University) on 5G leaky wave antenna design Applications are invited for a four-year fully funded PhD research studentship in 5G leaky-wave antenna design. The student will be registered at James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, and will be co-supervised by Dr. Chaoyun Song (Heriot-Watt University), Dr Lei Wang (Heriot-Watt University) and Dr. Bo Liu (University of Glasgow). University of Glasgow is an internationally top 100 university (#81 in QS World University Rankings 2023). The program is funded by one of the leading CAD companies, The MathWorks Inc. (the creator of MATLAB and SIMULINK). The PhD student will focus on research into 5G leaky-wave antenna design using state-of-the-art AI-driven antenna design techniques. He/She will become one of the next-generation antenna experts leveraging state-of-the-art AI-driven antenna design methodology and tools, which will significantly promote the PhD student¡¯s future career, either from industry or academic point of view. The studentship is expected to be available from 1st October 2023 or earlier (negotiable). Applicants should show their competence in antenna knowledge and design through their publication track record and/or industry experience. MATLAB programming ability is highly desirable.
