导师简介： Dr. Zhu is an NIH KL2 scholar (2019-2021) and Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics at VCU. He received his BS (2008) in Biotechnology from Nankai University, China, and completed Ph.D. (2013) in Medical Sciences at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Zhu was a postdoc at NIBIB/NIH. His research interests lie at the interface of immune-oncology, nucleic acid therapeutics, nanomedicine, pharmacoengineering and pharmacoimaging. 研究方向： Our research interests lie at the interface of immune-oncology, nucleic acid theranostics, immunotherapy, and functional biomaterials. My current focus is to develop therapeutics and vaccines for combination cancer immunotherapy, infectious disease prevention, and drug abuse treatment. Current primary research directions are listed below. 1. mRNA vaccines for cancer immunotherapy and infectious disease prophylaxis. 2. Novel nucleic acid immunotherapeutics for cancer immunotherapy (immunomodulatory DNA/RNA, mRNA, gene-editing gRNA, siRNA, aptamer) 3. ADAR-targeted nucleic acid theranostics and immunomodulators 4. Drug and vaccine delivery 5.
