Dr. Xiaying Xin, an assistant professor from Queen's University, Canada, is looking to recruit graduate students with backgrounds in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemistry, microbiology, or related disciplines.

Her research focuses on water and wastewater treatment and environmental impact and risk assessment. Her expertise lies in the use of nanotechnology and biotechnology to remove toxic bacteria, emerging contaminants (e.g. PFAS, PPCPs, microplastics, flame retardants), and antibiotic-resistant genes from water and wastewater. Her expertise also lies in the use of Synchrotron Radiation and the associated techniques to solve a variety of challenges in analytical chemistry.
