里来分享 | 注意文章摘要写作的四大陷阱！ 已有2人参与

学术期刊一般不会因为语法错误而拒绝一篇文章，但一定会因为逻辑混乱而拒绝一篇文章。 因此，一篇SCI 论文能否被录用，主要还是看它所提出的方法和观点是否有价值，是否有独到的学术见解，推理是否合乎逻辑，及其证明是否科学等等。 当然，逻辑固然重要，但论文也应该按照一定的格式、良好的写作风格来撰写。写作风格良好与否，无疑影响了该文的学术水平，还会直接影响作者在读者心目中学术形象，以刊出的许多SCl论文的abstract为例，就有许多这样的问题。 接下来，就来细数一下我所见过的 abstract 写作大坑∶ 坑1∶写作风格随意 科技学术论文，包括SCl论文及其摘要，属于正式写作范畴。 正式写作的特点是要使用书面语言，不同于口语写作，需要正式、客观的写作风格。 然而，不少人在编写abstract时会将正式写作和口语写作混淆，例如有些abstract的初稿出现如下语句∶ 1.In this paper, we have given a reason that is... 2.2.In this way,the measures can... 3.so strong association rules are generated according to... 4. As inductive tools, spatiotemporal data mining techniques are designed to find out... 5.My study has confirmed the saying that... 像 【have given a reason】，【In this way】，【so】，【find out】，【saying】均为【毒药式】口语句式。尤其是【My study】这种第一人称的描述，是坚决不能出现的。 坑2∶陈述过于简单 abstract 虽然简短，但不应过于简单。以下示例则违反了abstract的一般规则∶abstract In this paper, strong association rules are generated according to the user-specified minimum evaluation indicators. 这种「一句式」的 abstract，还没等到审稿人出场，就会直接被编辑狂怼回去。毕竟这只能算是标题的扩展，根本不能作为论文的梗概。 当然，这种「二句式」的 abstract也不行，照样会被编辑吊打∶ abstract The author in this paper presents a mutual-information-based quantitative association rule-mining algorithm (MIQarma) to address these challenges. The MIQarma is proved to be effective, and the authors are satisfied with the results. 如果没有读过全稿，我们仅分析这个 abstract，会更容易发现它的不恰当，因为缺少了几个必要要素的描述。如果是三要素 abstract ，至少有目的、方法和结论，至少要有完整的 3~4 句文字。 坑 3：内容缺失 让我们再来看看一篇 abstract： Abstract. This paper focuses on finding spatial association rules.In the first part of the article the specifics of spatial databases are discussed and the existing meth-ods for finding spatial association rules are reviewed. Also different classes of spatial relations used to express the relationships between objects in spatial databases are presented. Farther a method for mining spatial association rules has been proposed and special data structure, called T-Lree, for storing frequent and potentially fre-quent itemsets has been introduced. Spatial objects are represented here as points. Non-spatial items contain information considering spatial elements. Discovered as-sociations contain information including both spatial and non-spatial elements. 首先，根据写作要求， abstract 至少需要目的、方法和结论三要素（全要素为：背景、目的、方法、结论和意义）。但是这个 abstract 并没有告诉读者该篇论文的研究结果，缺少结论这一重要的必备要素。 其次，从结构上看， 主题句显得相当模糊，给读者确定该篇论文的主要目的带来了困难。第一句「This paper focuses on finding spatial association rules.」其实上指的是论文的领域背景，即说明了论文所关注的问题，但「finding spatial association rules」这件事是很多研究者都做过的，通篇并没有把论文想解决的问题以及必要性说明白。 最后， 一些内容其实不必在 abstract 中表达，例如「In the first part of the article the specifics of spatial databases are discussed and the existing methods for finding spatial association rules are reviewed. 」这种说明文章结构的信息，实在是没有必要出现在 abstract 里。 该 abstract 是一篇署名单位为某世界知名大学某学院的论文。此例说明，即使是老外，要想写好英文科技论文，也是需要好好磨炼英文写作技能的。 坑 4：abstract 的前言化 让我们再来看看这一段，这个例子存在一个很典型问题，是初写者一不注意就会掉进的坑： Abstract. Information and the knowledge pertaining to it are important to mak-ing informed decisions. In domains where knowledge changes quickly, such as business and open source intelligence gathering there is a need to represent and manage the collection of dynamic information from multiple sources. Some of this information may be transitory due to its situated context and time-limited value (cg driven by a changing busincss market). Ontologies offer a way to model concepts and relationships from information sources and for dynamic domains it is important to look at how to support evolution of knowledge repre-sented in an ontology, the change management of an ontology and how to main-tain consistency when mapping and merging knowledge from multiple sources to an ontology base. One of the difficulties is that often contradictions can oc-cur and sources may be unreliable. In this paper we introduce a technique for merging knowledge while ensuring that the reliability of that knowledge is cap-tured and present a model which supports ontology evolution through the inclu-sion of trust and belief measures. 该 abstract 除了最后一句，其余部分基本算是Introduction中的 background。这段abstract 主要介绍了专业背景和一般性的领域知识，没有提供论文核心性的信息，算是比较差的一篇 abstract。 将 abstract与Introduction混淆，而直接将Introduction 修改后放到 abstract 中的行为，是极不可取的。 abstract是对整篇论文进行总结概述，让读者快速了解【解决了什么学术问题，能使用什么样的方法，经过实验测试，最后结果/结论是如何的】。它通常包括背景（可选）、目的、方法、结果和意义（可选）等几个部分。 而 Introduction是 SCI 论文正文的第一部分，用来陈述研究目标、介绍适当的问题背景，现存的研究成果及其不足，再描述本文研究解决的问题以及目的，指出本文研究的意义。 文章写出来的 而是改出来的，如果绕过这些写作陷阱，一定会对您的写作事半功倍！ |
