Title: Ph.D. Position in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Dr. Chenglei Wang (https://scholar.google.com/citat ... AAAJ&hl=en) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (ME, PolyU) invites applicants to apply for the RGC Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) and the PolyU Presidential Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme (PPPFS) (https://www.polyu.edu.hk/en/gs/p ... olarship-schemes/). Successful candidates can join the team as early as May 2023 to explore some interesting problems of fluid-structure interaction and heat and mass transfer mainly through theoretical modeling and numerical simulation. Required qualifications: - Bachelor/Master degree in engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or related field - GPA ≥ 3.7/4.0 or Top 15% of class or First class honours - Fulfilling the English language requirement (IELTS or TOEFL) - Rich experiences in fluid dynamics - Computational skills in CFD programming (C++ preferred) - Good publication record Preferred skills and experiences: - Fluid-structure interaction, heat and mass transfer, and non-Newtonian flow - Parallel computing (e.g., MPI), lattice Boltzmann method, finite element modeling, and immersed boundary method Interested applicants are invited to send detailed CVs with publication lists and contact information of two references to Dr. Chenglei Wang via chenglei.wang@polyu.edu.hk.
