香港理工大学仿生机器人实验室招收研究助理和2023Fall博士研究生

ra position in soft robotics and mobile manipulation description we are looking for a full-time research assistant or research associate to join the biomimetic robotics laboratory (https://henrychulab.github.io/) at the hong kong polytechnic university (polyu). the research assistant or research associate will work with dr. henry chu and his research team on the project of “gps-assisted smart robot with self-exploration ability for litter pick-up and sorting on curved hillsides" (https://www.polyu.edu.hk/me/news ... -chu-secures-ecf/). the appointment period of the research assistant or research associate is from six to twelve months. responsibilities in this project, the research assistant or research associate will need to develop a first-of-a-kind litter picking robot and its supporting system, which can work alongside with cleaning workers to reduce their workload and the risk of injury, while preserving the natural scenery and environment in hong kong. eligibility and qualifications • must have a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, automation, control, robotics, computer science, or a related field. • must have research experience and interest in one or more of the topics (e.g., soft robotics, mobile robot, gps navigation, robot manipulation, and mobile manipulation). • advanced programming skills (e.g., matlab/simulink, python, c/c++, ros). • proficient in system integration of robotic systems (e.g., integrating robot manipulator with a mobile robot). • strong hands-on experience with the mechatronic system (e.g., motors, microcontrollers, and sensors). • candidates who have experience with mobile manipulation or soft robotics are particularly welcomed. application deadline to be considered for this position, please email dr. henry chu (henry.chu@polyu.edu.hk) with a cv, a brief self-introduction (e.g., research experience), and motivation for the position with the subject line "ra position application - your name”. we encourage candidates to apply via this link (https://jobs.polyu.edu.hk/job_detail.php?job=220728014) by 27 january 2023 but will continue to review applications until the position is filled. addition - ph.d. position if you are interested in applying for the ph.d. position in Soft Robotics, please email dr. henry chu (henry.chu@polyu.edu.hk) with a cv, a brief self-introduction (e.g., research experience), and motivation for the ph.d. position with the subject line "ph.d. application - your name”.
