PhD Position: Precision rehabilitation in mental health
Institution: The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences
Contract Length: 3/4 years

Two fully funded PhD positions are available at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with an interest in psychiatric rehabilitation, brain plasticity and non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS).
The offered positions are part of ongoing research programs that investigate the therapeutic utility of NIBS such as transcranial magnetic stimulation or transcranial pulse stimulation in psychiatric disorders.
To investigate the neural mechanisms, underlying the effects of NIBS, we take advantage of neuroimaging techniques such as functional near-infrared spectroscopy and magnetic resonance imaging.
We offer an attractive workplace in a young and highly motivated team.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a health related discipline, such as medicine, psychology, nursing, OT, PT, neuroscience etc. (preferably with dissertation component)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Previous research experience in brain stimulation, neuroimaging, and data analysis will be an advantage
