【申请deadline 7月4日】我校教授正在招一名phd，三年制（需要有硕士学位才能申），免除学费（由于是私立学校，本身学费第一年9000€，之后两年每年4500€），每年15,500€奖学金，另有1000€左右搬迁补助，大概80%时间是做课题，20%是做助教。教授剑桥出身，人非常nice&supportive（我与他合作过，可以保证），且口语非常好，毫无口音（南欧口音真的很致幻）之前为联合国开发计划署undp工作（他的上一位ra去了world bank），目前是副教授，也是我们课题组的leader，affiliated剑桥，当前招生课题与undp合作，招生不仅限于经济学（economics, sociology, anthropology, environmental studies, development studies, land economy, demography, psychology, political science, education, health, gender studies, etc)。

以我个人经验，一个phd职位的优劣主要有四个维度：导师能力与人品、课题质量、学校名气、地理位置（关乎3-4年的宜居性，毕竟读博很致郁，尤其换个文化背景全然不同的地方，但巴塞罗那真的华人多、气候好还有中餐外卖！）。这个职位唯一的缺点就是学校论知名度在国内查无此校，times综排也刚够上500（欧陆高校相较英美排名普遍不给力），但本校在社科和商科方面还不错（可以查一下qs和arwu的专排；学校本身是商学院，课题组内教授背景一半社科一半商科，导师本人经济学出身但做的东西偏交叉学科）。对于想来欧洲读博又不想走csc的同学（西班牙社科全奖机会一向少得可怜，自打20年疫情起就更不用说了），不妨考虑一下（导师对中国学生印象很好，能更公平地评估），申请需要一封2000字以内的research proposal，详情请见https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/799679

what is the general project?

leaving no one behind (lnob) is the most comprehensive and transformative commitment of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and its sustainable development goals (sdgs). it is based on the ethical principles of equality, non-discrimination and equity (undp. 2021). it originated from a widespread acknowledgement that the poorest and the most marginalized are being excluded from development. it builds on the lessons of the millennium development goals (mdgs) that relied on the use of statistical averages and national aggregates, hiding entrenched structural inequalities and the persistence of multiple forms of discrimination against the most vulnerable.

the lnob research agenda is first and foremost a program for the operationalization of all sdgs taking into account the best interests of those marginalised and furthest left behind in the development process. it is about the use of disaggregated data by income, sex, age, race, ethnicity, migration status, disability, geographic location and any other characteristics relevant to exclude people from more equitable forms of development. it is also about the introduction of innovative measures and techniques that will allow us to identify how different societies are considering (or not) the interests of their most vulnerable citizens. it should also tackle ‘real-time monitoring’ (higher frequency data) that can address the needs of the most vulnerable when they are hit by diverse hazards.

the key issue to be faced by sdgs today is fast-track progress for those left furthest behind. this perspective mobilises right now the best efforts of the whole united nations system as well as the core of international organisations such as the world bank. translating the principles of leaving no one behind (lnob) into concrete action demands facing several operational and practical challenges. a good account of lnob should start with grounding it on political philosophy principles, moving forward with the use of indicators, innovative tools and techniques for gathering and systematising information about the poor and the non-poor.
