With kind regards, K. Segawa Editor Applied Catalysis A: General Reviewers' comments: This paper reports the use of **** as a support and the effect of ### as a stabilizer of Pd nanoparticle. As the XPS, TEM and other characterization results indicate, the new support shows the interaction with Pd ion to give high dispersion of Pd metal. In the catalytic hydrogenation of *****, the supported Pd catalyst shows higher activity and selectivity than usual Pd/Al2O3, SiO2, or carbon. The detailed characterization is characteristic of this work, and the results are reasonably explained. But there are several English problems needed to be corrected. With this revision, I would recommend this paper for publication. |

COMMENTS FROM EDITORS AND REVIEWERS Reviewer #1: It is a well written paper with a clear objective and well designed experiments. The findings are a relevant contribution in the field of engineered bioremediation. However, a few minor issues should be addressed: Reviewer #2: This is a good work to combine the bioslurry and two-liquid-phase systems in order to biological degrade persistant contaminants. It contains a variety of chemical and biochemical analysis in order to evaluate the performance of system.
