It is indeed a research focus of nanotechnology. They provide enough data to study the growth mechanism. Especially, they report the superhydrophobicity of BaCO3. I believe this nanomaterial will find application in the future. Therefore, the work can be accepted for publication after following two questions are clarified. > (1) The authors claimed that the as-prepared BaCO3 crystals were well oriented and grew mainly along the (111) face based on the corresponding XRD pattern. This conclusion should be confirmed again with HRTEM. > (2) In Page 6, the authors mentioned the existence of hydrogen bonds in the complex BaCO3 nanostructures. COMMENTS FROM EDITORS AND REVIEWERS Reviewer #1: It is a well written paper with a clear objective and well designed experiments. The findings are a relevant contribution in the field of engineered bioremediation. However, a few minor issues should be addressed: Reviewer #2: This is a good work to combine the bioslurry and two-liquid-phase systems in order to biological degrade persistant contaminants. It contains a variety of chemical and biochemical analysis in order to evaluate the performance of system.
