There are two parts in this paper. Firstly, the extraction method of indigo and indirubin in Dyers Woad Leaf was introduced and analyzed. There are two main extraction methods for indigo at present. One is ethanol reflux extraction and the other is ethanol percolation. In addition to two methods mentioned above, ultasonic method is used for indirubin. Sencondly, through the analysis of different extraction methods, production process was optimized, which is the most suitable to industrial production and can improve the yield. This study laid a foundation for the development of Dyers Woad Leaf and done a profitable exploration for applying new technology and method to preparation process of Chinese medicine. .
