for integrated metallic nanomaterial system group at the institute of materials physics and technology of the hamburg university of technology for the earliest possible date, we are looking for a: researcher (m/f/d) wissenschaftlicher mitarbeiter (m/w/d)

full time, for a maximum of 48 months. the remuneration is in accordance with tv-l 13 (75-100% position).

your tasks

• developing and fabricating nanoporous metals or alloys with several levels of structural hierarchy through electrochemical dealloying and additive manufacturing
• microstructure characterization (using scanning and transmission electron microscopies as well as x-ray small angle scattering), mechanical characterization and functional applications
• developing and understanding the links between structure and function and mechanical material behavior at each length scale
• publication and presentation of your scientific results in peer-reviewed journals and at international conferences
• work towards pursuing a doctorate

your profile

• masters degree in materials science, materials engineering, nanoscience, physics, chemistry or related area from an internationally recognized academic institution
• knowledge and practical experience in the fields of electrochemistry, materials mechanical behavior, materials characterization or metallurgy is considered an asset
• ability to present scientific contexts to an international audience of experts in a comprehensible and convincing manner, both verbally and in writing in english
• willingness and ability to work in a team with an international group of scientists
