[交流] Research fellow (postdoc) in X-ray nanophotonics @ NTU Singapore

We are seeking a highly-driven, talented and creative Research Fellow to join us in our efforts to study of X-ray photonics in emerging materials like van der Waals structures. Specifically, the research fellow will study the miniaturization of high brightness X-ray sources using nanophotonic technologies. Specific to our goals is the use of plasmon polaritons and quantum materials like van der Waals materials to realize breakthrough applications in photon generation and X-ray quantum optics. We aim to answer fundamental questions in light-matter interaction. Check out our group website at (replace “@@” by “oo”): https://sites.g@@gle.com/view/ljwgroup

Our recent research is featured in top-tier journals including Nature Photonics, Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Advanced Science, Physical Review Letters etc.

We are based at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

Key responsibilities:
•        Use of TEM, SEM, FIB etc. to study light-matter interaction and X-ray quantum optics in van der Waals materials
•               Perform experimental and/or theoretical studies on light-matter interactions in quantum materials
•        Quantitative study of the X-ray emission from quantum materials under various conditions.
•        Publication in top-tier journals
•        Literature review
•        Supervision of graduate students and undergraduates

We are looking for applicants with the following attributes:
•        Internationally recognized Doctoral degree in applied physics, materials chemistry, optical physics, or strongly related fields
•        Proven track record of excellence in the study of light-matter interaction, especially in the context of nanophotonics or X-ray sources.
•        For experimentalists: Experience in high energy radiation characterizations with specialization in setups that use fast electrons (e.g. SEM, TEM, RF guns) or X-rays (e.g. XRD, XPS, synchrotrons) is a bonus.
•        Experience and knowledge in nanofabrication are preferred; Strong publication track record is an advantage.
•        Self-motivated, highly independent, and able to perform under stress.
•        Works well individually as well as in a team
•        Eager to learn new things and passionate about research
