PhD Programs in Laboratory for Energy & Environmental Conservation (LEEC) at Monash University 蒙纳士大学能源与环保实验室博士项目 Principal Investigator: Dr. Baiqian Dai www.monash.edu/engineering/leec Email: bai-qian.dai@monash.edu 1.Research on the application for the advanced catalysts synthesized from solid waste (2 PhD + 2 Masters) This project aims to obtain advanced catalysts from variety of sold waste, such as coal fly ash, slag, which were landfill waste with environment issues. Through the directional extraction of specific metals from the solid waste to cations, with the impregnation of catalytic cations (Ni, Pd), selected chemistry synthesis, and structure modification, the crystallised nanosized catalysts will be obtained. The performance on the catalytic combustion for VOCs will be investigated for the obtained catalysts. Potential electrocatalysis for the obtained catalysts will be studied. Modelling approaches including the DTF to indicate the growth of the catalysts will be involved. The successful of the project will provide innovative approach from solid waste to high-valued catalyst in an environment friendly manner. 该研究项目旨在以不同的固体废弃物，如粉煤灰，钢渣，污泥等为原料，通过定向提取和选择合成工艺，得到良好形状的二维材料。通过对生长过程的模拟和调控，及对合成过程的掺杂和修饰，得到高性能的催化剂，用于二氧化碳还原，有机废气的催化燃烧等, 该项目成果实现对廉价的固废无害化处理的同时，形成高附加值的催化剂产品应用。 2.Innovative approaches for sludge high temperature conversion (2 PhDs + 2 Masters) This project aims to establish an efficient integrated process to produce building materials from sludge. The process simulation and energy analysis will be investigated for the integrated process, including the pretreatment, high-temperature conversion, the synergistic reactions for the ash-forming metals and inorganic compounds. The completion of this project aims to establish an economic process to minimize the sludge and transfer the waste to treasure. 该项目针对污泥量大，能量密度低，高含水量的特点，旨在建议一套新型的污泥高温处理制造建筑材料工艺，集污泥的预处理，高温转化以及成型工艺。对转化过程的技术经济性分析，不同成分之间的耦合协同作用以及灰分的烧结，熔融对建材产品性能的影响。该项目将实现污泥减量化，无害化处理的同时，形成性能稳定的建筑材料，变废为宝。 3.Research on the slag fluidity for low-rank fuels (1 PhDs +1 Masters) The fluidity of the slag from low-rank fuels, including biomass, sludge and lignite determine the technologies to deal with these resources. This project aims clarify the fluidity, melting, sintering mechanisms to establish a proper method to quantify the slag fluidity. Data base for low-rank fuel slags will be established based on the experiment and image identification. Reliable model will be created for accurate prediction for slag viscosity. 生物质，污泥，褐煤等燃料储量大，能量密度低，难以实现大规模高效转化。高温转化过程中灰渣的流动和熔融特性的研究对建立合理的转化途径意义重大。该项目将建立一套基于低品阶燃料灰渣粘度，熔融，流变性定量的理论预测模型和实验定量手段。 |
