DENG Lih Wen email: bchdlw@nus.edu.sg 新加坡国立大学药学院招聘 chemical biology/drug discovery Research Fellow PI Name DENG Lih Wen email: bchdlw@nus.edu.sg Department Biochemistry Position Research Fellow Salary Range SGD 5,000 – SGD 6,000 The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow to conduct a research project on Development and Application of innovative bioactivity assays for drug discovery for cancer therapy” in the Department of Biochemistry and Centre for Cancer Research, NUS. The research fellow will work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including chemists, pharmaceutical scientists, bioengineers, and cancer research scientists. The role is lab-based and encompasses in vitro and in vivo assay designs, bioactivity validation and development of mechanistic assays for hit validation and lead compound generation. Appointments will be made on a one-year contract basis from 1 July 2022 for the possibility of extension for 3 years. Qualifications 1) Have a PhD degree in. in biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, biomedical science, pharmacology or a related discipline. 2) At least 6 years of research experience with good publication track record in the related area and is able to work independently and in a team. 3) A basic understanding of molecular biology techniques and expression/purification of proteins in bacteria and/or mammalian cells as well as practical experience in mammalian cell culture and immunofluorescent microscopy is essential. 4) Familiar with high-throughput cell culture-based anticancer drug screening in both 2D and 3D in vitro tumor models. Experience in implementation of anticancer drug delivery for in vivo cancer treatment using xenograft mouse model is preferable. 5) Great skills in developing robust assays in support of medicinal chemistry or biological programs including both in vitro biochemical (e.g. enzymes) and cellular (e.g. reporter assay) development and various assay technologies and read-outs suitable for support of drug development. Main duties and responsibilities The Research Fellow will be able to: • Manage the planning and executions of the research projects in a research team; • Train and supervise research staff/postgraduate students recruited to the research project; • Draft manuscripts for publication and proposals for research grants; • Analyze and interpret obtained data as a member of a cross-disciplinary team • Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
